Many claimants believe you have to be a certain age or older to qualify for disability. This is not an unusual question because workers are accustomed to the idea that you must be 62 or older to qualify for Social Security retirement benefits. But there is no age limit to qualify for Social Security Disability. In fact, one may qualify for Social Security disability from childhood until retirement age.
I do not currently handle children’s claims. I do, however, handle claims from the age of 18 to 65. Because it is a little “easier” to win claims when the claimant is 50 years or older, many attorneys refuse to accept representation in cases where the claimant is younger than 50. However, I’ll handle claims involving adults under the age of 50.
