You are not required to give a statement to the property owner or business owner’s property insurance company. However, I can tell you that if you don’t provide a statement, then in all likelihood, the insurance company’s not gonna pay too much attention to your claim. If you are gonna give a statement, then we recommend that you do so under the advice of an attorney. Most attorneys like our office will give you a free consultation in connection with your claim and we will advise that you get advice from an attorney to understand your legal rights before you provide any statement to an insurance company.
